Synopsis: Two estranged brothers and Mixed Martial Arts fighters confront the forces that tore their family apart as they prepare to do battle in the ring in this drama from director Gavin O'Connor (PRIDE AND GLORY). Tommy Conlon (Tom Hardy) is an ex-Marine from Pittsburgh who's never quite shaken his troubled past. Upon learning that the purse in an upcoming MMA tournament is the largest in the league's history, Tommy recruits his father, Paddy (Nick Nolte), a former coach and recovering alcoholic, to whip him into shape in time for the competition. Meanwhile, as Tommy steadily ascends the ranks by defeating one powerful opponent after another, his brother, Brendan, struggles to provide for his family with his job as a public school teacher. A former MMA fighter with a devastating punch, Brendan begins to wonder if he, too, could have a shot at winning the coveted purse. In time, Brendan and Tommy both emerge as dark horse contenders in the competition, setting the two brothers on a brutal collision course. But Tommy and Brendan's biggest battle won't be fought in the ring -- it will be fought in their hearts and minds.

"WARRIOR makes for a sturdy, visceral entertainment....It grabs you in early scenes, intense though low-key before all hell breaks loose, then keeps you riveted..."
Review: -08/30/2011
4 stars out of 5 -- "WARRIOR makes some unexpected choices that allow the film to punch above its weight."
Review: -09/07/2011
3 stars out of 4 -- "This is a rare fight movie in which we don't want to see either fighter lose. That brings such complexity to the final showdown that hardly anything could top it -- but something does, and WARRIOR earns it."
Review: -09/09/2011
"WARRIOR is a relentless, emotionally engaging family drama and underdog saga with touches of ROCKY mixed with THE FIGHTER."
Review: -09/15/2011
3 stars out of 4 -- "It's Cain and Abel battling it out in the face of a decidedly ungodly father before humanity goes down for the count. Strong stuff."
Review: -10/01/2011
3 stars out of 5 -- "Hardy's talent for tempering fierce masculinity with deep, soul-aching complexity is given a full airing in this tale..."

"O'Connor orchestrates a surprisingly rousing, full-bore melodrama..."
Review: -01/01/2012
"It's a forceful, literate drama that balances intense mixed martial arts fight scenes in the ring, with emotional battles in the no-less-fraught domestic arena."
