Throughout 2001 and 2002, the Dressed to Kill label issued a series of reggae compilations under the generic Reggae and Ska Twin Pack banner. These sets bundled together budget-level compilations of two artists and sold them for the price of one. While these quick-and-cheap overviews of the respective artists are a decent way to check out reggae legends, there is just no escaping the fact that they are, well, quick and cheap. You get what you pay for. The packaging is hideous -- each installment is a real eyesore -- and all of these artists have better points of entry available. If in need of a quick fix, these'll do. Otherwise, stay away. This set spotlights Delroy Wilson and Andrew Tosh. Wilson's half features "Cool Operator," "Doing My Thing," "Who Cares," "This Heart of Mine," and "Rain from the Skies." On Tosh's disc: "Time Is Longer Than Rope," "Stop What You Doin'," "One Step Happiness," and "Small Axe" are included. ~ Andy Kellman |
