New York Times
bestselling authors Rachel Cohn and David Levithan are back together with a life-affirming new holiday romance starring Dash and Lily of Dash & Lily’s Book of Dares!

Dash and Lily have had a tough year since readers watched the couple fall in love in Dash & Lily’s Book of Dares. Lily’s beloved grandfather suffered a heart attack, and his difficult road to recovery has taken a major toll on her typically sunny disposition. Lily’s spark has dimmed so much that Langston, her brother, has put aside his grudge against Dash to team up and remind Lily what there is to love about life.

With only twelve days left until Christmas—Lily’s favorite time of the year—Dash, Langston, and their friends take Manhattan by storm to help Lily recapture the holiday spirit of New York City in December, a time and place unlike anywhere else in the world. Told in alternating chapters, The Twelve Days of Dash & Lily is bound to be a Christmas favorite for seasons to come.

It's been a year since teens Dash and Lily fell in love (Dash & Lily's Book of Dares). Now it's Christmastime; Grandpa's heart attack has put Lily in a bah-humbug mood, so it's up to Dash to provide holiday cheer. This sequel offers lighthearted moments, but the stakes are higher now, as Lily contemplates mortality, change, and what it means to love and be loved. Copyright 2017 Horn Book Guide Reviews.

It's been a year since the two teens met and fell in love in New York City (Dash & Lily's Book of Dares, rev. 1/11), thanks to a red Moleskine notebook and its scavenger hunt clues. Now it's Christmastime once again, but, at "a balmy seventy degrees," it sure doesn't feel like it. Lily blames global warming for her bah-humbug mood, but she's had a rough year, what with Grandpa's heart attack and subsequent operations, so it's up to Dash to bring on the holiday cheer. This sequel isn't quite the carefree, flirtatious romp that the first book was. There are plenty of lighthearted, silly moments, but the stakes are higher now, as Lily begins contemplating mortality, change, and what it really means to love and be loved. tanya d. auger Copyright 2016 Horn Book Magazine Reviews.

Dash and Lily met and fell for each other over the holidays in 2010's Dash & Lily's Book of Dares, and this rowdy sequel picks up one year later as the teens' relationship is showing signs of stress. Lily is concerned about her grandfather's health (he suffered a heart attack and a bad fall) and about Dash's true feelings for her; as a result, her typical holiday exuberance is all but gone. The authors again alternate between Dash and Lily's first-person perspectives, which are peppered with sharp banter and up-to-the-minute New York City references, and they send Lily on another clue-driven tour of the city. Like its predecessor, it's a full-fledged rom-com, though the rommy moments (Lily's heart-to-heart with her mother about relationships, Dash watching happiness sneak its way back into Lily's life) can sit uncomfortably beside the commy ones, which include a tomato juice squirt gun duel, X-rated gingerbread cookies, and an event that becomes known as the Great Glitterskating Massacre. Ages 12–up. Agent: (for Cohn) Jennifer Rudolph Walsh, William Morris Endeavor; (for Levithan) Bill Clegg, Clegg Agency. (Oct.)

Gr 10 Up—The beloved Dash and Lily are back in the hilarious and heartfelt sequel to Dash & Lily's Book of Dares. It's been a year since we left the couple, and since then, things have been rough. Lily's grandfather had a heart attack and has a rocky road to recovery, leaving Lily sad during her favorite time of year—Christmas. As a result, her dutiful boyfriend Dash has his mind set on making her happy in the 12 days left leading up to the holiday. Participating in another scavenger hunt, a memorable ice-skating party, a family Christmas party, and more, the duo, along with a cast of familiar friends and family members, take on memorable high jinks, showing readers that the holiday season isn't just about presents but also about being in the present. Cohn and Levithan have once again crafted an exuberant novel capturing the emotions of teen love, along with the hilarity of young adult life. Chapters that alternate between the protagonists' perspectives flow seamlessly together and will have readers laughing out loud as the couple are faced with various issues—together and apart. However, the heart of the novel runs deep and is slowly revealed, leaving teens feeling all the emotions at once. VERDICT A wonderful addition to collections where the first novel is popular.—Erin Holt, Williamson County Public Library, Franklin, TN. Copyright 2016 School Library Journal.
